Winners named in Irish retailer awards

The best of independent health store retailing is celebrated in the Health Stores Ireland/Better Retailing Magazine awards ceremony on September 8.

The awards will be presented following the first day of Vitality Expo with a ceremony at Paddy Cullen’s, adjacent to the RDS Dublin, at the close of the opening day.

There are 21 awards including the five category winners, shortlisted retailers, special environmental recognitions plus categorised product awards.

The winners and runners-up

Innovation and Business Development

Winner: The Hopsack, Dublin.

Shortlisted: Sonas Health Foods, Newcastle West & Nuts & Grains, Mullingar.

Community Engagement

Winner: Natural Health Store, Wexford.

Shortlisted: Fruit ‘n Nut Place, Portlaoise & Loop De Loop, Castletownbere.

Training & Education

Winner: Evergreen, Galway.

Shortlisted: Organico, Bantry & Natural Choice, Cork.

Environmental Initiatives

Winner: Organico, Bantry.

Shortlisted: The Aloe Tree, Ennistymon & Healing Harvest, Kinvara

Digital Marketing

Winner: Only Natural, Wexford.

Shortlisted: Aquarian, Cahersiveen & Evergreen, Galway

  

Awards for Environmental Care, Learning and Service

Special recognition of Environmental Initiatives will also be awarded to Simple Simons, Donegal; The Quay Co-op, Cork; Healing Harvest, Kinvara and The Aloe Tree, Ennistymon.

The Highest Achievers in Health Food Institute training will also be recognised: The Andrew Cape Memorial Award (Diploma) to Melanie Philips of Blasta Wholefoods, Dungarvan; and the Del Eagle Memorial Award (Certificate) to Amanda Davis of Evergreen, Galway.

The Pat Curran Award For Excellence in Service will also be announced following a public vote via Rude Health, the official consumer magazine of Health Stores Ireland.
