10 free places available for HFI diploma course
As part of the annual HFMA/Roger Lane Scholarship, the Health Food Manufacturers Association and Lanes Health, a long-standing Patron of the Health Food Institute, are providing funding for 10 candidates to gain Part One of the HFI Diploma.
This jointly funded legacy initiative recognises Roger Lane’s passionate commitment to this industry and the importance of having well-trained and knowledgeable health food retailers.
The diploma’s five modules cover the basic principles of retailing and provide a solid grounding in the specialist knowledge and nutritional skills that are required in the retailing of natural health products.
A key aspect of this course is that, by making it available to their staff, employers are able to demonstrate a good degree of due diligence in respect of the legalities of selling natural health products and of health and safety legislation.
Scholarship applicants need to enjoy their work and have a real interest in the industry and its products. They also need to be sufficiently self-motivated to complete this course and in doing so demonstrate their commitment towards the professional reputation of their health food store.
On completion of this online course they will have achieved an IEB accredited qualification – the ‘Health Food Institute Nutritional Adviser’s Award’ – and they will be eligible for Associate Membership of the Health Food Institute.
Students are required to complete the online course within a year of enrolment.
